Re: Mixed reviews for plan to reduce auto insurance premiums, by Dave Waddell, Aug. 23.
To
cut 15 per cent on auto insurance premiums, the Ontario Liberal
government estimates the average driver will save $225 annually when the
announced reforms are fully implemented.
Thanks to NDP for
propping up the same old McGuinty-Wynne Liberal government in order to
save the drivers $225 a year but cost them and all of us much more with
higher taxes, fees, tolls and billions more debt.
Just the interest alone, we are paying over $10 billion a year now. The NDP hurts us more than helps.
Besides,
with the 15 per cent drop on the premiums, the government didn't tell
us if our insurance coverage or the services will be dropped at the same
time. if it does, where is the savings? By ordering the businesses to
drop their rates as the Ontario Liberal-NDP coalition government did, it
makes the businesses feel that they are not welcome to do business here
in Ontario. Can a government order the stores to drop their prices?
Instead of hitting hard on the businesses, the government should hit
hard on the crimes in which cost the $1.6 billion of fraud insurance
companies face annually.
We can manage the system more efficiently to cut the wastes and bureaucrats in the system.
For
a better Ontario, we need to have a government know how to balance
books, cutting the waste and bureaucrats in the system, a government
that knows how to create more jobs through private businesses, not to
kill the businesses with all kind of taxes, fees and red tape.
Let
us hope for a new government that would be able to increase our economy
productivity by 15 per cent or more and reduce the oversized government
the Ontario taxpayers can afford.
