Highway deaths spiked after Liberal maintenance cuts: AG

TORONTO == The price of cheaper road maintenance was less safe winter highway driving conditions, Ontario Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk has found.
Early data suggests a spike in highway deaths in the province in 2013 due to icy road conditions.

Her special report on winter highway maintenance, tabled with the Ontario Legislature Wednesday, concludes that service levels have been dropping for over the past five years.
